Reiki Classes and Instruction
Dr. Paque is a Reiki Master in the Dr. Usui tradition and offers classes to those interested in being Reiki Practitioners and Reiki Masters. To become a practitioner one must complete Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 and commit to spending time practicing giving and receiving Reiki to increase ones sensitivity and intuitive senses of touch. While there is a specific curriculum that is followed, much of the learning is through actual doing, so time is provided in class to allow for hands-on practice. Students are encouraged to find time to practice as much as possible.
Reiki Masters have received training through all four courses, have the ability to teach and train others, and have practiced Reiki to the extent that their sensitivity is awake and aware to the Universal Energy that surrounds us and from which they draw during sessions. Not all masters choose to teach, but all are in touch with this energy, and all have significant practice on an ongoing basis to facilitate their ongoing connections.
Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 are generally offered more frequently than Reiki 3 and 4 as many people intend to be practitioners but are not interested in teaching. Sometimes Reiki 1 and 2 are offered together in a weekend set of sessions so that one can be certified as a practitioner by the end of the weekend. While this is one method, the benefit one receives is directly related to the amount of integration of the materials and the ability to practice on one’s self and others. Doing is a large part of Reiki as it opens our sensitivities to our own energies, the energies of the universe and the specific needs and energies of the recipient.
For this reason, I offer Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 as two separate classes, generally about a month apart. I teach Reiki 1 and 2 as six hours of training each that incorporates teaching, attunements, and the ability to practice and learn with each other. In these courses you are introduced to the materials in the text and the manual you will receive, learn the first Reiki symbols and how to use them, practice drawing and using the symbols, time for questions and feedback, attunements, and of course, practice both as a recipient and a giver of Reiki.
The cost for each Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 is $125 which includes all of the materials.
Required Text for all classes will be provided as part of your enrollment: Essential Reiki by Diane Stein, and Reiki for Life by Penelope Quest (available from Amazon.com)
Reiki 3 is the advanced course that moves one into the realm of being a Reiki Master. Reiki 4 is generally offered at the same time, and this course teaches one how to give attunements, teach Reiki to others, and give further opportunity to practice as a giver and recipient. Generally Reiki 3 and 4 should be taken no less than 6 months after completing Reiki 2. In the interim, one is expected to be using Reiki regularly and expanding one’s consciousness of the universal energy that guides this work.
From the time of completion of Reiki 2, there can be a significant opening of sensitivity to one’s self and one’s clients, and this opening needs to have occurred prior to taking Reiki 3 for the greatest benefit to the practitioner. (exception: if you have taken Reiki 2 in the past and have recently retaken it to get your skills back up to speed, you may be ready to take Reiki 3 and 4 in less time. That is for you and the Master to decide so that you achieve the greatest benefit.)
The cost for Reiki 3/4 is $200, and is 7 hours of instruction , attunements and practice given over two consecutive weeks as 4 hour sessions. The same text is used for this class as is used for Reiki 1/2.
If you are interested in signing up for instruction with Dr. Paque, please let me know. I generally will run classes when there are 3-5 students interested so that we have enough group dynamic to guide our energies and enough people to engage in both receiving and giving practice.
